Daniel Craig Would Rather ‘Slash’ His Wrists Than Play James Bond Again
If you happen to run into Daniel Craig any time soon, be sure to keep him far away from any sharp objects, high terraces or dangerous situations where he may choose to harm himself. But why would he want to do such a thing?
While promoting Spectre, Craig has been asked so much about whether he will play James Bond again that he rather slit his wrists than think of the possibility. In a recent interview with Time Out London, Craig was asked yet again if he’ll return to 007. Here’s his full response:
Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.
So yeah, he’s really not digging the Bond look right now. Craig added that he has no idea what’s next for the franchise and his relation to it, but added that if he did return it wouldn’t be out of sole passion or love for the role. “If [emphasis Time Out‘s] I did another Bond movie,” he said, “it would only be for the money.” Harsh.
Craig is so over Bond at the moment that he doesn’t even care who succeeds him in the role. “Look, I don’t give a f–k,” he told Time Out. Maybe Craig just needs a vacation after all those Spectre stunts, or maybe he’s just pissed off that the new movie threw some olives in 007’s classic martini.
Regardless, Craig is still contracted for one more Bond film after Spectre. He recently told The Daily Mail that he’ll keep playing the character as long as he’s “physically able.” At this point, who knows what’s next. Perhaps we should leave it up to the British bookies.
Spectre opens November 6.
