Elton John announced today that he would be retiring from the road ... that is after a very lengthy world tour that includes a stop in Albany!

This morning Elton John teased a huge announcement to come and he fully delivered this afternoon.

At a press conference this afternoon at New York's Gotham Hall Elton John announced his retirement from touring while fans across the globe watched via a live stream. While it's a little sad that the world will be without Elton's live show that won't be a reality quite yet.

During the press conference Elton announced that after touring for 40+ years he has decided to retire from the road in order to re shift his priorities and focus on his family. Elton being the performer that he is, is not going to leave us hanging. He has planned a very lengthy farewell tour that will hit over 300 cities across the globe that will keep him pretty busy for the next three years and give him a chance to say thank you and goodbye to all the fans that have supported him over the years.

The first round of dates for Elton John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" retirement tour have been announced and included in the first round of dates is a stop right here in the Capital Region!

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, Feb 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM and will run you anywhere from $49.50 for 200 level, $124.50 for sections 101, 108, 117 & 124-130, and $224.50 for floor; 102-107 & 118-123. You can get yours at the arena box office at Times Union Center, online at ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000. just a heads up there are a few pre-sales coming up this week that you may be able to get in on if you want to make sure to secure your tickets early.
