That James Taylor truly is a class act.

So about a month ago it was announced that some big name acts were coming to the Capital Region to play the Times Union Center as part of their Grand Re-Opening Celebration. The gala was scheduled to include performances by James Taylor, John Legend, Latham rocker Moriah Formica and comedian Jim Belushi was set to host. The show was supposed to highlight the completion of the Times Union Center's recent renovations and serve as a fundraiser to benefit the The Pediatric Emergency Center Department at Albany Medical Center.

Well, over the weekend we got word that the show had been cancelled. Apparently we weren't the only ones bummed that the venue and the promoters couldn't make it happen because James Taylor took to Facebook to vent his frustration and apologies for the cancellation even going so far as to say he would have played for FREE if they could make it work.

As it turns out they couldn't make it work however James, ever the class act that he is, and his wife have since decided not to leave the kids at Albany Med hanging and has so graciously donated $10,000 the The Pediatric Emergency Center Department at Albany Medical Center!

That my friend is how it's done. If you are interested in donating James tweeted out a link to assist you in that matter. We're hoping the TU can get James back in the Capital Region at some point in the near future so that we can show our gratitude.
