If you have been dying to get out of the house this winter to spend a little time on the water (ice?) to enjoy a frosty cold brew, reflect on life a bit, all while trying to hook a fish you are in luck because this weekend you can do that for FREE!

This coming weekend February 18th and 19th you can fish at all New York State's lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams as part of Gov. Cuomo's Free Fishing Days that allows people to try out the sport of fishing without a license in an effort to support the state fishing industry which according to WNYT generates $1.8 billion annually and supports nearly 17,000 jobs statewide.

If you were hoping for some free fishing days when maybe the weather is a bit warmer don't worry there are a few more coming up. So if you can really plan ahead, those will fall on June 24 and 25, Sept. 23, and Nov. 11.
