New York State Police Looking for Missing Hiker in the Western High Peaks
This young man has been missing well past the time and day he was due home lets hope we can help get him home safely.
According to a Facebook post by the New York State Police the department is currently working with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Forest Rangers to locate a missing New Jersey man named Alex Stevens.
Alex began his intended 3 day trek at the Upper Works Trailhead on September 2nd and was last seen on that same day at the base of Wallface Mountain in the Newcomb area. Alex is 28 years old 5’11” 220lbs and was last seen wearing sandals, shorts, and a dark blue t-shirt. He may be carrying a green colored, light backpack with a silver foam bed roll attached. He has longer hair that he typically wears in a bun, and glasses.
Alex was reported missing from an over due hike by a concerned family member on Sunday, September 10th. If he had only planned on spending 3 days in the wilderness that is already a pretty extensive time to be without supplies and it hasn’t exactly been warm overnight around these parts let alone in the high peaks.
Anyone who may have seen Alex or who may have with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the New York State Police at (518) 873-2750.
Here’s hoping to a safe return for the man and his family.
