No, they didn't name him 'Stella' ...

You may have noticed that pretty much all of Upstate New York is still covered in snow after winter storm 'Stella' dropped record breaking amounts of snow on the region and caused blizzard like conditions all across the state.

Well, at the start of the storm at The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango a baby zebra was making his first appearance into the world. While pretty much everyone in New York state was hunkered down in their homes with only the internet to entertain them the park put out word of the foals birth on their Facebook page and asked it's followers for suggestions on what to name him.

Thanks to Ma Nature making us acutely aware that winter wasn't over yet one name seemed to keep popping up quite frequently (and no, it wasn't Stella). According to News Channel 2 the most popular name suggested was ... Blizzard.

Seems pretty fitting if you ask me. You are going to have to wait a few weeks to see Blizzard in person seeing as the wild Animal Park is closed for the season but don't worry opening day is coming soon on April 29th! In the meantime check out some cute pics from their Facebook page!

In other news, we are still waiting on April the Giraffe to birth that calf shes been in labor with for like a month.
